Surprise Visitors!!!

Week 5 is over, onto Week 6!

This past weekend my family came up and visited me down in the dirty T! The past few weeks have been really rough, not necessarily with school but other things,  so mom and dad booked a hotel room and came up! They  thought they would come down to cheer me up!! Don't get me wrong college life is amazing  however I do miss my family. My mom honestly is one of my best friends and my little sister is my pride and joy! She's a mini me! I miss hanging out with them, and laughing. We all have such different personalities but we are all hysterical. There's only been one nite in college so far  where my stomach had hurt because I was laughing so hard. Even though it was only for 2 days, it was refreshing. I got to catch up with all the families gossip, Sadie's "relationships", Dawson's potential crush, what's new in the grandparents lives, mom and dads exciting news, Thanksgiving plans, Christmas Vacation Plans(I'm beyonddd exciteddd!!) It was short but very sweet! Only a few weeks until family weekend!

Its hard moving away, not having all my friends and family as my support system. But I have made so many amazing friends already, ever day I see a new familiar face! It just takes time to build those long lasting friendships, but don't worry I have experience in that. I didn't have strong friendships in England until a year of living there. I've done it once I can do it again!!!

Monday nite, was my 1st event in Hall Council. I was on a team that worked together to make this event happen. It was called PSP (Popcorn, S'mores, Pizza)  @ PSP (Posada San Pedro)!! Including a movie nite, we watched 21 Jump Street! It was so amazing, seeing different people in the dorm come out to this one event. There was probably 80-100 students who stopped by or stayed for the whole event! All of Hall council members were very pleased with it!!!

Friday Nite Lights! Went to the U of A vs. Utah, we fought so hard but a couple of fumbles and bad passes cost us the game! Don't have any pics of the game, but it was a blast! I meat a few new friends and really excited to see where those friendships go!

Some pics from the rest of the week!

The pictures below are with some of my friends: Bri and Sarah! Its only been 5 weeks of us getting to know each other and we have already been through soooooo much, its unbelievable! Each one of us have felt sad, happy, confused, vulnerable, and scared with each of our struggles but we all have got through them (or working on it). I honestly am so thankful for these girls! We have had so many laughs and many cries. But I'm so excited to see where these next 4 years go! We are all pre-business students so can always have study dates, dance parties, classes, movie nites, and many dinner dates! I honestly love you girlies! Thank you for everything!

Scattered update but its an update! Each day is a new day and I'm just pressing forward! Love you and miss you all!!

Week 4... done!

Happy Friday!! I made it through week 4!!! My nite consisted of doing homework and relaxing! After I got a good portion of my homework done, my roomie and I went to go get dinner! We both are slowly hating fast food, you can only eat so many salads, were missing our home cooked meals for sure. Came back to  the dorm room and painted nails and tried to get the U of A game up, but I failed. This week we played the Miners in El Paso, safe to say we WONNNNN!!! Missed cheering on the team in the stands! We are finishing the nite by watching Baywatch, both roomie and I needed a good laugh tonite!

So......

Where to begin... these past four weeks have honestly been crazy, and have been the best and worst moments of my life. Its been an adjustment for sure. Growing up, moving around I haven't always had friends but my family has always been there for me. I may not always act like it but I am truly grateful for my family. They are always there no matter what time or where, I  always have a shoulder to cry on but moving away to college it wasn't going to be the same. I don't have my friends, don't have my best friends, don't have my siblings and don't have my family but I will adapt I always do! Thank god for FaceTime, phone calls, and texting! I could not live without my phone. I FaceTime roughly three times a day, sometimes more; either with my friends or family.

My dad warned me will I will just be a number. The classes are too big for teachers to have a personal one to one connection. All of my classes either have 600, 500 or my smallest 300 pupils. I do feel like just a number but I luckily have at least 1 or more friends in each class! My favorite class is probably my Popular Entertainment class, I sit in the very front and I have a friend who sits with me!! Since we feel like we are the only students who haven't seen the office, we are going to start watching it together. The teacher always makes funny office references and we are lost! My least favorite class is probably the MIS 111 (Management information Systems), this is a pre-req for the business school. The professor is great just the content is hard to grasp, but the ELLER advisor for my dorm says its a class to test peoples ability. He said many will quit business after this course and change their major, so I am determine to excel in this class. I already have a study group for this class and meet 3 times a week for work and many more to hang out! Those girls and I are soooo close its unreal! I love it! They are all so friendly and we are going through some of the same struggles (relationships).

I have always been the person who over books themselves, never says no. But I have had to lean quickly to say no, learn how to manage my time: involving school, friends, family, homework, clubs and social life!!! Its challenging but its not impossible. Monday nites I have Hall Council, not only am I a part of this club but I am the Vice President of Marketing! Tuesday nites I either have Navs (bible study) or Sports Marketing or Association of Marketing (I haven't decided which I'm doing yet). Wednesday nite I have Eller Elite meetings. Thursday nites are my only nites to myself, I normally end up spending 8 hours doing homework, getting caught up or ahead in my classes. Friday nites are either dorm nites or Navs nite!  Keeping myself busy for sure but I'm still staying on top of my classes and school work! Trying to handle everything as well as balance friends, family and social life! My favorite part of the day is walking into my room and seeing my bed, it still is as pretty as it was move in day!

Dorm life is another adjustment. I thankfully have always had the luxury of living in my own room and only having to share a bathroom with one sibling. But now I'm sharing a room half the size of my original room, sharing a closet smaller than the wardrobes in England, sharing a bathroom with 20 other girls, that's a huge adjustment in its self. The girls wing is soooo much cleaner than the guys for sure, you can tell by the smell! Walking down the guys wing, it smells like a locker room. But it sure isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The dorm rooms are bigger than I expected, bathrooms are cleaner, location is prettier, and people are nicer. Living with about 20 other girls you have a lot of diversity, which is amazing. Everyone comes from different backgrounds, different states, and have different personalities. Someone how I have developed such strong relationships with some of the girls! I have so much in common yet we are completely different people.

This year is going to be a year of learning. Figuring out how to handle everything, figuring out who I am and who I want to become. I have a had a good foundation but college will test you!

Lets just say, this week has been the HARDEST week so far, for a variety of reasons. I would need hours to explain everything to you guys. I have called my mommy and best friend (s) hysterically crying for reasons I don't even know how to explain, but I know it will get better. God doesn't give me anything I cant handle. I am truly thankful for all of my friends in my life, you each are so important to me! I have made so many friends down in the dirty T too!!! Many late nite convos, ice cream runs, late nite walks, and many laughs and cries! I learned from a young age that not everything will go according to plan. God puts bumps in the road to try to off set us, steer us down the wrong path but we have to stay strong.

Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Miss you and Love u all!!

Quick update

Its been almost a month since I've spread my wings, being on my own, living freely, as an adult, college student. Its been a roller coaster. I want to say week 4, but I've lost count already! Here's some photos from last weeks game! We lost. Which was hard, but it was against Houston, so they deserve a win after everything they've been going through... but do not say that to a football player! They take offense! School has been tiring and exhausting but I'm making my way through it! With a lot of moral support and many pep talks! Friendships are starting to develop! I still miss some of my best friends and will always! Counting down the days I can see them!!! Will give u more of an update this weekend!! Goodnite❤️❤️

2 weeks down only 142 weeks until I graduate!

Good morning my loves! ❤️

This week was just as eventful as last week, if not more! Classes were starting to vamp up, and every nite I had either an activity or club or meeting to attend, plus the idea of homework! Teachers were not easing into it, already had 2 big projects!  But it's Labor Day weekend! Today is U of A's 1st football game of the season!!!! I couldn't be more excited!!!!

Some highlights of my week....
I went to this bible study, a group called NAVS. I met some really sweet, caring girls but they will never replace my life group girls! Had coffee with one of them and found out we had so much in common!! Dealing with growing up, high school, boys! Grabbed coffee with her the other day!!! Looking forward to that every week!
Found out that the Elite program I'm in consist of the top 5% of the business school.. wow.... I'm in that! That was shocking to find out!! I'm slowly starting to make friends in that group! Everyone is so fun, we often just laugh at the meetings while being "professional". It will be a great group, where I can learn and grow a lit while getting a competitive advantage over the other students! I'm looking forward to those meetings, besides the part of dressing up, I prefer to be in my leggings and t-shirts!
Last highlight was having a pizza party with my hall! Talked and laughed for hours with the girls! We are becoming really close, some more than others! Someone is always always doing something and inviting you to go out, there's never a dull moment!

I've come to the realization that I miss my family! Sadie wanted to FaceTime the other nite and I could have cried! I miss my little stubborn princess! This week I've been off and on feeling down... this morning I woke up with a really stuffy nose and a sore throat! This is when I wish my mommy was here to take care of me! But she's just a FaceTime away!

I don't know how people made it through college without a phone back in the olden days! Everyday I am able to text, call and FaceTime my friends! I can not tell you how many facetimes I've had!!!! I love it! It makes me think for a few minutes that I'm with that person and not so far away!!!

I think the bathroom mirror is my new selfie mirror, I miss the long wardrobe mirror at the house! 😂😂

Hopefully by the end of the day I will not have a sore throat, stuffy nose, all homework done, so I can enjoy the game!!! Hopefully I will not lose my voice but looking like it may happen! Currently sound like a man!!

Love you guys!!!
